About Beverley Black.....

The artist was born in Manchester in 1958.  She first moved to Scotland in 1982 and settled there permanently with her family in 1994 - now based in Aberdeenshire. She has always been a very keen hillwalker.  Art was always a hobby, but it was her subject matter - the landscape - that she chose to study at university.  As a walker, geographer, botanist and landscape architect, she developed a deep appreciation and understanding of all aspects of landscape, and how to create a sense of place.

Her first sales as an artist were made in the Lake District in 1982 when she worked as a leader of walking holidays.  Since then she has travelled and hiked extensively, especially in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, the Alps and Norway, gaining inspiration for her work.  She works in watercolour, acrylic and mixed media to create unique, vibrant and expressive paintings.
